Abstract
Smart cities using new technologies are known as a way to improve the quality of urban life, optimal urban management. In cities with a rich cultural and religious background, the need to integrate Islamic values and principles in the smart city development process becomes more important. This research explains and identifies the factors influencing the formation of the Islamic smart city of Tabriz. The research method is qualitative-quantitative. In the qualitative part, the content analysis of Islamic texts and the smart city and interviews with 20 experts who were purposefully selected were used. In the quantitative part, the statistical population included the citizens of Tabriz, which was 383 people based on Cochran's formula. The data collection tool was a questionnaire based on Likert scale and quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. : Based on the results in the qualitative section, seven indicators including smart urban design, cultural and social identity, social justice, citizen participation, smart urban management and governance, smart education, smart public transportation are the most important components influencing the formation of the smart Islamic city of Tabriz. are In the quantitative part, the results showed that smart urban management and governance has the highest effect among the main variables with a total effect of 1.65. Smart urban design and cultural and social identity also have high effects with a total effect of 1.63 and 1.58 and play a key role in the formation of the Islamic smart city of Tabriz. These findings can be used as a framework for planning and implementing urban development projects in Tabriz and other Islamic cities.
